About PMI India Academic Advisory Group (AAG)
The PMI India Academic Advisory Group was formed in December 2009. The members are all eminent academicians from reputed colleges across the country and also senior practitioners from Industry. The group is led by an elected Chair and the names of the members and chair of AAG are as follows:

Another survey by consulting giant McKinsey & Co. found that nearly 60 percent of senior executives said building a strong project management discipline is a top-three priority for their companies as they look to the future (McKinsey & Co., January 2010.)
The demand from organization translates into a growing need for Academic institutions to develop programs that educate and train project professionals at all levels cutting across industry verticals. Therefore the Project Management profession offers opportunities for colleges to introduce courses and expand their course offerings and eventually draw in new students to meet the needs of organizations.
This is exactly the objective of the Academic Advisory Group (AAG) and in line with the same; members of AAG will provide support for furthering Project Management Education in India and provide guidance on the curriculum on PM that needs to be set up. Members will also support advocacy with governing bodies in institutions to further PM education and also advice and suggest options for PMI India to consider and act upon.
Last but not least, members are also part of the approval teams for research proposals, papers and provide technical insights as applicable to the research activities being conducted. Members will keenly support PMI's initiatives in working with Organizations to bridge the necessary skill gaps.

Academic Advisory Group's activities
A research study conducted by NICMAR on behalf of PMI India explored the subject of 'Drivers of Project Management Education in India' and was published recently in October 2010. It brought to light that in its current state, India needs to initiate and sustain greater effort in propagating the benefits of Project Management (PM) to all stakeholders.
