Message from Raj Kalady, Managing Director, PMI (India)

Dear Practitioner,

After four immensely successful conferences, the fifth PMI India National Conference will be hosted in the capital city of Delhi in September 2013. The theme for this year is "Project Management - Bringing Certainty in Uncertain Times". The conference comes at a time when the country's development has been a subject of much debate and discussion in various forums. The conference provides the right platform to take this debate further and even find plausible solutions. In today's volatile market conditions, it is no doubt a challenge to make project predictions, plan budgets and timelines accurately. However, using tried and tested project management methodologies can help manage the market dynamics and bring the much needed element of predictability. Project management is the crucial bridge which connects the organizational strategy to actual results by bringing certainty in these uncertain times. I expect the conference to throw more light on this subject and help practitioners stay in touch with developments and thus stay ahead of the curve.

Our conferences have drawn visionaries, industry leaders, policy-makers, thought leaders, and project management champions. We have always strived to meet delegate expectations in terms of the quality of speakers and discussions, as well as knowledge sharing and networking opportunities. This year, too, all efforts will go in to make it an enriching experience for you. I'm sure that the learning's from the previous four conferences coupled with the fresh ideas, enthusiasm and vision of the hosts - PMI's North India Chapter, will make this conference a wonderful experience for all the attendees.

Block your calendar for the power packed two days of the conference. We will be updating this micro site regularly. I encourage you to check it for updates about the conference in the weeks ahead. And most importantly, I look forward to seeing you at the conference.

Regards,

Raj Kalady
Managing Director, PMI India

Dear Fellow PM Practitioners,

We all work in our respective domains managing projects and contributing to Nation Building in our own ways. Need of the hour is to join efforts in advocacy of best practices in Project Management as per Global standards and institutionalize the same in every organization involved in doing Projects.

On a separate note, we also need to understand and appreciate the uncertainty surrounding global business environments and the impact it's having on Global & Indian economy, Government budgets and its related spending on various sections. All this is putting additional pressure on Project Management practitioners to ensure that all projects are managed as per best Global Project Management practices as eschewed by PMI, leading the stakeholders to reap expected social and commercial benefits from the projects, thus contributing towards Nation building of our great nation.

Taking a cue from the same, PMI North India Chapter Board, PMI India, Core Committee of PM National Conference 2013 and all 8 chapters of PMI India have appropriately finalized the theme for this 5th Project Management National Conference 2013 as "Project Management - Bringing Certainty in Uncertain Times". The words "Bringing Certainty" signifies the measurable and definitive value addition that Project Management best practices brings into play in management of projects in these uncertain times.

PMI North India Chapter, also celebrating its 10 year of volunteering service this year is very excited to host this conference in the National Capital and looks forward to warmly welcome all the Delegates, Participants, Technical Paper Submitters, Speakers and volunteers to this great conference, which is setting new benchmarks year after year. Also taking cognizance of feedback received from participants of earlier year conference regarding challenges faced from extended stay of 3-days, this year's conference structure has been re-designed to make it two full-days conference, finishing on Saturday so that outstation guests can take evening or next day flight and get one-day rest before resuming their official duties next week.

Venue for this year conference is Leela Kempinski, Gurgaon (NCR), world class venue for large National & International Conferences and we all look forward to welcoming you there on September 27-28, 2013.

Hope you have an enjoyable and knowledge gaining experience.
