PMI India has announced two awards for recognizing Academicians who through their outstanding contributions in education, research, training, consultancy and advocacy have made extraordinary impact in establishing the role and significance of Project Management education in India.

The two awards are:

PMI India Distinguished Fellow Award

Eligibility Criteria Exceptional and outstanding leadership level contribution in the field of education, training, research, consultancy, institution building, inter institutional and industry institute linkages, advocacy.

A certificate will accompany a cash award for both these awards.

The field of Project Management includes topics that could relate to the Project Management processes such as Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control and Closing and the Project Management knowledge areas such as Scope Management, Schedule and Time Management, Cost Management, Quality Management, HR Management, Risk Management, Procurement Management, Communications Management, Integration Management, Contract Management, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Management, Claims management, etc.

PMI proposes to give away these awards at an award function as a part of the 1st PMI India Research and Academic Conference, that will be held at the National Institute of Construction Management & Research (NICMAR), Pune on December 9 -10, 2011. The theme of the Conference is "Getting India Ready in a Project Driven Economy- Role of Academia".

PMI® is a Not-for-Profit Professional Association with the primary goal to advance the practice, science and profession of Project Management throughout the world. PMI® collaborates with universities, other educational institutions, and corporate entities to encourage appropriate education and career development at all levels of project management activities.

In India, PMI® is guided by the Academic Advisory Group (AAG) whose members include eminent Professors from leading institutes in the country. The subject conference is an initiative of PMI India and the AAG.

The last day for receiving the Award nominations is 10th October 2011. The nominations (soft copy only) may be sent by e-mail to Uday Yedur at the following e-mail id: academic.awards@pmi-india.org

The winners will be intimated by 15th November 2011.The decision of the Selection committee will be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
