On 15 June, PMI members and their families put in four hours of work to rejuvenate the flora and fauna of Bhima River. Water hyacinths and plastic waste had turned an otherwise beautiful green picnic spot into a dump yard. The water had become polluted, and sunlight couldn’t reach beyond the surface. As a result, many fish were dying and mosquitoes multiplying, leading to an outbreak of dengue and malaria. In this shramdaan, participants became change-makers, choosing action and empathy over silence and apathy.
