Secured Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, from College of Engineering (COEP), Pune. Completed United Nations Fellowship Programme from British Space Agency, UK. Fellow of Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers, Fellow of Indian Institution of Engineers and a life member of Indian Society of Astronautics.

In his 30 years’ of distinguished service in ISRO, has played an important role in more than 18 satellite programmes of the country. Was responsible for developing the fabrication and Test & Evaluation technologies for the first time in the country for the most important application equipments (called payloads) of the various satellites. He is also credited for the pioneering work in development and successful implementation of effective quality systems for these high tech equipments. Another important achievement of his is, playing a leading role in establishing world class facilities for these activities right from the scratch at ISRO Ahmedabad. Worked as Project Manager for many projects.

For his outstanding contributions, he has received many prestigious awards, some of which are: Merit award from Prof. Satish Dhawan-then Chairman ISRO; Verman Award; NRIPO Bhushan Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and the Outstanding COEP- Alumni Award.

He has been deeply involved in the field of education too. He was a guest faculty in the reliability engineering for the M. Tech. Students in the IIT Powai; an examiner for the M. Tech. Students of University of Pune; Senior Scientific Advisor for the Foundation of Liberal Education and Management and the President of the Indian Association of Physics Teachers, Pune Chapter. Currently he is a Member of the Advisory Board of the Aerospace Institute, Pune and consultant to ‘Pinnacle Concept Learning Centre, Pune. Also he is the Chief Editor of ‘Space International’. His talks in the international conferences at Orlando in 2009, at Chicago in 2010 and in San Diego in 2012 were well received.

Devoted to the cause of ‘popularization of space science’ since the 18 years. Published more tha 450 articles, given several talks in India and abroad and scripted and presented TV programmes for this cause. His book ‘Avkashzep’ has been highly applauded by Experts. Another book of his entitled ‘60 Years of Space Research’ has been distributed free of charge to 400 schools in Maharashtra.

In recognition of his phenomenal efforts in the northern India, an Indian-International School in Chandigarh has opened a “Suresh Naik Centre of Excellence in Space Sciences”

Anand Kumar

Founder- Super 30 Programme | Mathematician


Anand is an Indian mathematician and the mind behind #Super30 programme. He is a columnist for various national and international mathematical journals and magazines.

Anand is best known for the Super 30 programme which he started in Bihar around 15 years ago, where he coaches 30 students for the IIT entrance exam. By 2017, 396 out of the 450 coached, made it to the IITs. Discovery channel showcased his work in a one-hour documentary on Super 30 and half a page was devoted to Anand in The New York Times. He has been invited by prestigious top universities - Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard, IIM (A), University of British Columbia and more to speak on his programme to mentor students from the underprivileged sections of society.

His teaching story had a very humble beginning with a rented classroom and 2 students. Within a year that class grew to 36 and within three years there were almost 500 students enrolled. In early 2000, when a student who couldn’t afford the coaching fees came to him due to poverty, Anand started the Super 30 programme. Anand has no financial support for the programme from any government or private agency and does not accept donations for the programme.

He is in the Limca Book of Records for his contribution in helping poor students pass the IIT exam by providing free coaching classes. Time Magazine included Super 30 in the list Best of Asia 2010. He has been awarded the Rashtriya Bal Kalyan Award by the President of India.

Bollywood is making a biopic on Anand, and Hrithik Roshan has been cast in the role.

Stephen Townsend

Director of Network Programs Project Management Institute


Stephen Townsend is PMI’s Director for Network Programs. In this capacity, he leads special program initiatives, including development of a practice guide on agile methods; and a book on the integration of program management and systems engineering with the International Council on Systems Engineering and MIT’s Consortium on Engineering Program Excellence. He is also working with PMI’s U.S. government relations team to plan for implementation of the Program Management Improvement Accountability Act.

Stephen has worked within PMI since 1999 in the areas of member services; chapter/community relations; business/government relations; and PMI’s global development activities.

Stephen has over 30 years of experience in non-profit leadership and management.

He is a long-term member of and volunteer within the American Society of Association Executives.

His primary hobby is historical research, particularly that of his own family heritage. He has written two books documenting his family’s genealogy back to the early 1700s. He as also written articles, published a newsletter and delivered lectures on history and genealogy, including for the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate from VJTI, Mumbai, he also has a post graduate specialisation in Industrial Engineering from VJTI. Mr Waray has 15 years with thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (India) and was previously Executive Director - Implementation as also Head of the company’s Pune Operations.

He has successfully led a number of mega projects of the thyssenkrupp group as Project Director, and is held in high esteem in the global thyssenkrupp project set up.
