The PMI India Champion Program aims at maximizing organizational projects' and business success. The program starts with the identification of passionate project management practitioners, willing to learn and volunteer. The program then invests in their development and enablement by equipping them with latest knowledge base articles, trainings, community support, problem solving sessions, tools & techniques etc.. These practicing volunteers then act as the ambassadors of PM profession and PMI to support its Project Management advocacy efforts in India. After their orientation into the program, they are designated as "The PMI Champion" and they help support PMI advocacy initiatives and offerings within their organizations and at the same time, they leverage the vast PMI and Champions Community in their Projects and Organizational Success. They also act as a bridge between their Organization, PM Community and PMI India and contribute to improve the whole ecosystem.
 
The Champions contribute to this program in an honorary role. Both, the Champions and their respective organizations gets benefited in multiple ways.

  1. Active PMI Member with unmatched passion to contribute to PM Community
  2. PMI Credential Holder would be preferred
  3. Practicing Project Manager or has overall responsibility/accountability for Project Managers
  4. Typically he/she should be at the level of a Team Lead or Senior Member of a team or Project Manager, or Program Manager or Senior Member of Training/HR department of his/her organization
  5. Should have minimum 7 years of professional experience
  6. Should be able to commit 25-30 Hours per Quarter for self learning and advocacy activities
  7. Should be open to travel on need basis within the country
  8. Should not be an office bearer of a PMI chapter or associated with any REP
  9. Prior experience of Voluntary activities is desired
  10. Good presentation, communications and interpersonal skills are mandatory
  11. Desirable to have prior experience in delivering trainings, lectures, presentations at within or outside their respective organizations
36 months.
Selected Champions will be inducted as Champion Designates initially and will be graduated to Champions after the successful completion of orientation and based on their performance.
  1. Organizational Mapping:Identify the organization structure, key stakeholders in PMO and training departments , existing PM groups and communities and start participating in those activities
  2. Needs Identification:Identify Organizational and individual challenges and potential areas of collaboration with Champions Community and PMI
  3. Design Advocacy Solutions:Partner with PMI and Champions in designing the PM advocacy solutions which will help improve the projects and organizational success. Some examples: trainings, artifacts, awareness sessions, credentials roadmaps, tools & templates, events, digital content, webinars and seminars etc.
  4. Plan and Deliver:Plan the delivery of appropriate solutions in your organization by pro-active socializing, collaborations and approvals etc. Deliver the solutions independently or in partnership within your organization or with one of more champions. Leverage the PMI resources as appropriate.
  5. Self Development:Continuously invest in self development by participating in discussions, trainings and events offered by PMI and PMI Champions Community
  6. Contribute to Champions, PM Community and PMI:Contribute advocating within the Champions community, the PM Community and the PMI, its chapters and partners. Examples: Case studies, articles, whitepapers, training sessions or content etc.
