What are the requirements for obtaining a CAPM certification?
There are 2 options. You either need 1500 hours of actual project management experience (That's roughly about 3 years' experience working on a real project) or 23 hours of project management training from a PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). If you have studied project management as a subject at college/university, it would be another way to qualify for the CAPM certification.

Who can provide the 23 hours of Project Management Education?
PMI has approved more than 80 Registered Education Providers (REPs )across India who can provide training forCAPM. You can either opt for a classroom training or online learning. REP details can be accessed from this link -

How much do I need to pay for CAPM exam fees?
PMI Members pay $225 for the test and non-members pay $300. So, it would be worth considering becoming a member of PMI and avail the first of several benefits that are available only to members. You can find out more by going to

What are the PMI membership fees?
If you are a student, then you pay USD 32 only for PMI membership. However, if you are not a student then as an individual you pay USD 129 to join (plus USD $10 application fee).

How to submit payment for CAPM examination fees?
You need to pay for the CAPM examination only after your application is processed and approved. You will be notified by PMI and details on how to make the payment will be part of the notification. You can pay by credit card, check, international debit card, wire transfer, or money order.

Any more details on CAPM exam which are required to know?
The CAPM examination is comprised of 150 multiple choice questions. The allotted time to complete the computer based examination is three hours. You can refer to A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®Guide) - Fifth Edition which has largely the information that will be the basis of the CAPM examination. You may need to read, understand and apply the information available in this standard to help you pass the examination.

Are there any specific Exam site requirements?
For taking up the exam at Prometric on the scheduled date, you must carry your photograph and a government-issued, non-expired identification. This can include your Driver's license, a copy of your passport or a national identification card .On the day of your examination, please arrive a half hour before your scheduled appointment. You must sign in, present the required identification, and provide your unique PMI Eligibility ID. You may also be asked to provide the confirmation number received when scheduling the appointment.

How long will the application process take?
The application process may take up to 10 days from the date of submission. Once the application processing is complete you will get an email from PMI regarding payment of fees. Once you pay the fees, PMI will send you another communication with regards to scheduling your CAPM exam at a Prometric centre.
